Pulmonary ossification is a rare lung disease that involves the formation of mature bone in alveolar or interstitial spaces within the lung parenchyma. Most often, it is diagnosed by surgeries or autopsies. The disease is usually secondary to chronic lung, cardiac or systemic disorders. Unfortunately, there is no specific treatment or management guidelines. Due to its unknown pathogenesis, research is needed to determine future biomarkers and therapeutic targets.
