This podcast explores the topic of surgical robots in healthcare, specifically the Da Vinci Surgical system, with Dr. Yasufuku who is Professor of Surgery at the University of Toronto, Staff Thoracic Surgeon at the Division of Thoracic Surgery at Toronto General Hospital. He completed his Medical degree in 1992 at Chiba University in Japan, and became a staff surgeon and Assistant Professor at University of Toronto in 2008 and for the past 30 years, he has been practicing medicine and conducting lung cancer research. He is the first surgeon in Canada to use Da Vinci to treat early-stage lung cancer in 2012. During this interview session, he gave us his very meaningful perspectives and opinions on robotic surgery as someone who actually uses the system.
